Through sport, fitness, instructional, and outdoor programs, University Recreation inspires, educates, and empowers the Seattle University community to live happier, healthier, and more successful lives.
What We Offer
U Rec offers several services, programs, and facilities to enable the Seattle University community to recreate safely and positively. So, whether you like to kayak, shoot hoops, jog, play rugby, or lift weights, we have something for you!
Facilities
Facilities are available for students, faculty, and staff for informal recreation. If you just want to play pick-up basketball, exercise, strength train, or swim for fitness, then you can access our facilities to do so.

Fitness
Fitness consists of both group fitness programs and instructional programs. Group Fitness brings quarterly 8 week sessions of yoga, group strength, cycling, dance and more. Instructional Programs include Swim Seattle Masters Swimming and SU Martial Arts, which includes Karate, Jujitsu and Aikido. Red Cross Certification Courses and ACE Educational Courses round out the Educational component of Fitness.

Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports offer students, faculty, and staff the ability to play team and individual sports like flag football, soccer, softball, basketball, and many more.

Sport Clubs
Sport Clubs are more specialized than intramural sports and offer individuals the ability to join with others who have shared interests in a common activity like rugby, soccer, equestrian, or baseball. They may compete against other universities and/or institutions.

Outdoor Adventure Recreation
OAR provides students, faculty, and staff with the ability to engage in experiential learning opportunities like kayaking, canoeing, climbing, and so on. They also offer an outdoor gear rental program.
