Ehmann joined Seattle U in 2012 and has responsibility for coordinating graduate education, building the research enterprise, and strengthening impact from our university-wide centers that serve faculty and students.  These include the Center for Faculty Development, the Center for Community Engagement (CCE), the Center for Career Services, the Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability (CEJS), the Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture (ICTC), and the Center for the Study of Justice in Society (CSJS).  In 2015-16, our theme is “Creating Wholeness” in areas such as: responses to Laudato Si’, the papal environmental encyclical; preparing students to be changemakers; and engaging our alumni.  Centers, schools, and colleges are further supported here by the Office of Research Services and Sponsored Programs (ORSSP), the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and a new Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence.

Bill has recently co-chaired the development of the Academic Strategic Action Plan 2.0, collaborates with deans on new academic programming and graduate student recruitment, and helps build partnerships supporting the health professions.  A biologist by training, he leads Seattle U student field crews for one week each summer in Minnesota.  He is active in AAC&U and a member of Cohort 8 in the Ignatian Colleagues Program (ICP). .
