Bama is a well known Tamil Dalit woman writer whose memoir Karukku and novel Sangati are available in English translation from Oxford University Press.
David Davidar has written a novel called The House of Blue Mangoes which deals with caste issues in Tamil Nadu and this book is readily available in the public library systems.
Hugo Gorringe's Untouchable Citizens which is a sociological study of the Dalit Movement in Tamil Nadu.
S. Viswanathan's Dalits in Dravidian Land is reportage on Dalit issues.
