CTO Corner

Welcome to the first edition of SU Tech Talk, the Office of Information Technology’s (OIT) newsletter.

I am excited to bring you this first edition of the OIT newsletter which will be published every other month. I hope SU Tech Talk becomes a valued source of news and information regarding the Information Technology happenings on Seattle University’s campus.

It is an exciting time for information technology at SU. Along with talented new staff in OIT, our experienced staff has been actively engaged with faculty in using the Angel system and piloting new technologies such as iTunes U and the Turning Point response system. Across the campus, we have rolled out new computers and partnered with administrative staff to more fully utilize the Datatel R18 system.

As we head into the final weeks of the Spring quarter and prepare for the summer months, the list of exciting technology enhancements continues to grow. Upgrades to Microsoft Office, SharePoint, distance education initiatives and more. I’ll have more info in the July issue of SU Tech Talk on these projects.

I invite you to take a few minutes to read through the following pages, explore a link or two, learn something new, and then let me know your thoughts. Please feel free to drop me an email with your thoughts on this newsletter and any suggestions you have on how to make it more useful to you.

Welcome to SU Tech Talk!
