Desktop Applications

Desktop applications are locally installed standard computer software programs supported by the OIT Help Desk. Examples of desktop applications are programs such as Microsoft Office, the Raiser's Edge, and the Datatel User Interface.

Requesting Assistance

If you need to install/reinstall any of the supported applications, please contact the OIT Help Desk at (206) 296-5571 or helpdesk@seattleu.edu. You will be asked to provide some information.

Technical Support

Usually, the OIT Help Desk is able to assist with installing/reinstalling desktop applications remotely. When contacting the OIT Help Desk, please provide them with the following information:

  • Computer name or IP address (please go to http://mypc for your computer name and/or IP address).
  • What software you are having problems with or need installed.
  • Best time to install the software if needed.

Upcoming Maintenance

September maintenance

OIT will perform Planned Systems Maintenance on the following September dates:

Friday September 12th, 6:00pm - midnight

Friday September 19th, 6:00pm - midnight

Services (wired & wireless access) and applications (Email, SUOnline, Canvas LMS etc.) will be intermittently unavailable during maintenance.  Everything should be working after maintenance is complete; if it's not, we will let you know.
