Question

How do I use the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client on Windows?

Resolution

The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client is used to establish a connection between the computer you are using and the campus network.  This is only required when trying to use services such as Email, Network Drives, or Remote Desktop when off campus.  If you are already familiar with VPN, please proceed to the next step.

Step 1: Open the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client.

  • The default location for the shortcut is the Start Menu, then All Programs, and then Cisco.

 Use VPN XP 1

Step 2: Connect to the VPN server through the VPN Client.

  • In the Connect to: field, type vpn.seattleu.edu
  • Click Select.

Use VPN XP 2

Step 3: You will be prompted to enter your Seattle University username and password.

    • Enter your username and password to connect.
    •

You are now connected to the Seattle University Network over VPN and may proceed to use email, access network drives, or connect to your office computer over Remote Desktop.
