VPN is used to connect a computer to the campus network when it is being used off campus. A VPN connection is required to use network drives or remote desktop from off campus.
Step 1: Find the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client shortcut by searching for 'cisco' in your Finder.
- If you would like a shortcut on your dock, drag the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client icon onto the dock on your screen.
Step 2: You will see the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client window.

Step 3: In the Connect to: field, type vpn.seattleu.edu and then click on Select.

Step 4: You will be prompted to enter your Seattle University logon credentials.
Enter your Seattle University username and password to connect to the VPN.
You will now be connected to the VPN and can proceed to use email or connect to network (T- or P-Drives).

Resolution
If you are off campus and need access to email or network drives (T- or P-Drives), you will first need to install and connect to the VPN. The VPN is only needed for accessing email, network drives, or remote desktop from off campus. All Seattle University laptops should have the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client installed. If you would like to install the VPN Client on your personal Mac OS X computer, proceed to the next step.
Step 1: Click here to download the installation file.
Step 2: After the file has downloaded, open the file.
Step 3: You will see the Install vpclient window.

Click Continue again.
Step 4: Click Continue again.
Step 5: Click Agree.
Step 6: Click Install.
Step 7: You may be prompted to enter administrator credentials.
- Enter the username and password for an account with administrative privileges and press OK.
Step 8: You will see a screen that says The Installation was successful.
The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client is now installed on your computer.
