Blocked Email Issues

OIT is aware that some may be experiencing blocked email delivery to external clients.

Our Engineers have been working diligently to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

If you are attempting to send email to an account type that is not listed and appears to be blocked please contact the helpdesk at helpdesk@seattle.edu or call 206.296.5571

Update: All email to external addresses should be delivered normally. If you are still experiencing problems with email delivery please contact the Helpdesk.

Phishing Scam Email

During this time of year, it is quite common for “phishing” attacks to be made against educational institutions. While the anti-spam technology in use at Seattle University blocks the vast majority of such attempts, some are bound to get through to your email inboxes. A phishing attempt is a request, usually via an official looking email, to respond with personal or login credential information.

Please be advised that OIT will never request password, user account or other personal information through email. Should you receive an email requesting such information, please delete it immediately.
