Areas of Interest

Maria Pettinato, RN, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at Seattle University, Seattle, Washington. She is an experienced faculty member teaching Pathophysiology, Neurobiology, and Med/Surg nursing in both undergraduate and graduate programs on the east and west coast of the United States for the past 21 years. Her research interests focus on sexual minority health issues. Her scholarly work focuses on addiction, substance abuse, and mental health issues within the sexual minority community. She is Co-Chair of the Faculty Mentorship Program.
