Steven J. Palazzo, PhD, MN, RN, was awarded a Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy (NFLA) fellowship. The fellowship, developed by Sigma Theta Tau International in partnership with the Elsevier Foundation, provides an excellent leadership development program for nursing faculty.
Palazzo’s receipt of this fellowship comes as a direct result of his scholarly talent and his commitment to and passion for his work. He recently graduated from the University of Washington with a PhD in Nursing Science. During his doctoral study he received three fellowships, including an Achievement Reward for College Scientists, a Predoctoral Fellowship in Biobehavioral Nursing Research, and a Predoctoral Research Fellowship from the NINR.
He joined SU this past fall as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the College of Nursing. Palazzo is also a Sauvage Fellow with
the Hope Heart Institute and is the Program Manager of its “
Teen Take Heart” program.
His latest manuscript, "Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells Type 1 as a Potential Therapeutic Target in Sepsis," will appear in the January/February 2012 issue of
Dimensions of Critical Care Nursing.
