Dr. Susan Matt and SU nursing students, Lily Olivier and Christine Bosa, are on a 4-week journey to Granada, Nicaragua. They are blogging daily about their experiences at sulospipitos.blogspot.com.
Dr. Matt writes, "Our main purpose for this trip is to do a needs assessment for future...to find out how our faculty and students can best be of service in the years to come. Our hope is that we can provide service to the Los Pipitos community and at the same time have the benefit to our students of the global health experience abroad."
Los Pipitos is a nonprofit organization in Nicaragua that serves children with disabilities and their families. SU College of Nursing is working to establish a long-term partnership with Los Pipitos to enable faculty and students to have experiences there in the future.
