Assistant Professor of Nursing, Deonne Brown-Benedict, DNP, ARNP, will launch her own nurse practitioner clinic during the 2009-2010 school year.
She writes, “this small practice (in 500 sq ft) will offer holistic nursing-centered care and work in association with local churches, service and community organizations, and foundations. Using a hybrid insured/cash/charity payment model, the clinic will provide the basis for increasing access to care for the uninsured and underinsured of south Snohomish County.
Charis Family Clinic is slated to open June 30, 2009 based on a low-overhead, comprehensive primary care model using appropriate care-enhancing technology similar to the "ideal medical practice" (www.impcenter.org). In the process of developing and launching the clinic, I am looking forward to working with SU student Kate Edstrom, who has kindly offered her time and energy. More details coming soon at www.charisclinic.com.”
