Dear Colleagues, Students, and Friends,
As many of you know, last April the College of Nursing hosted its ten-year re-accreditation evaluation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The process and preparation for this visit was rigorous and introspective. The site evaluators met with many students, faculty, and administrators, and continuously commended our programs, techniques, growth, and accomplishments.
We were pleased to hear the positive and favorable remarks about our college during the report reading at the conclusion of their visit, and have been eagerly awaiting the official decision by the CCNE Board of Directors. On October 4-6, 2012 the CCNE Board met to review all nursing programs in the United States who hosted a visit in spring 2012.
I am very proud to announce today that we were notified that our nursing degree programs have been awarded CCNE accreditation. This official recognition allows the college to continue its mission of service to our students and the community in developing accomplished professional nurses. The tremendous support and active participation of our students, faculty, staff, and friends was a great part of this success. I am constantly in awe of the commitment and dedication to our college that all of you demonstrate on a daily basis. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your efforts in continuously making the College ofNursing a stand-oul among its peers.
Sincerely,

Azita Emami, PhD, MSN, RN, RNT, FAAN
Dean and Professor
