Global Nursing Committee
Welcome
On behalf of the Global Nursing Committee, welcome!
I am so excited to invite you to explore the new Global Nursing pages of our College of Nursing website. The College was the first in the University to have a standing committee devoted to global issues. The committee started as the Global Nursing Taskforce in October of 2005 and worked diligently for four years to sponsor events to raise global awareness and to collaborate with other areas of the University and with those in the greater Seattle area to provide opportunities to dialogue about global health issues. In recognition of our students’ overwhelming excitement and requests for global experiences, as well as in keeping with the growing, campus-wide work of internationalization, a proposal with set before the College of Nursing Faculty Assembly to transform the Taskforce into a standing Committee. In March of 2009 the proposal was approved by that body and the Global Nursing Committee continues its hard work on behalf of our students and faculty to this day!
