In celebration of your college's 75th anniversary year, you're invited to join College of Nursing Alumni at Seattle U Men's Basketball's first home game of the season! Elgin Baylor will be in attendance and SU's top 29 Basketball Players of All Time will be honored. A block of seats has been reserved for Nursing Alumni at a discounted price.

Mary Jean Comnick is HCAW Nurse of the Year
Mary Jean Comnick (BSN ’69) was named HCAW Nurse of the Year for 2009 by the Home Care Association of Washington. Mary has been a hospice nurse for over 24 years and currently cares for patients at Providence Home Care & Hospice of Snohomish County.
The Director of Hospice at Providence, Sherri Pride, described Mary as “a hospice nurse like a gentle wind that soothes the bodies and souls of those she serves. She is knowledgeable, gentle, wonderful and kind...she has led the way by example, showing how to be present, patient, continually focused and always a comfort."

Rachel Collins Wins Emerald City Search
A recent nursing grad, Rachel Collins (APNI '09) won the 4th Annual Emerald City Search this weekend. The search, run by Playmasons, LLC, is a Seattle-wide community building event that takes place over ten days. A medallion is hidden somewhere in the city and participants are given ten clues to help them find it. Rachel found the prize medallion located outside Jive Time Records in Fremont.

Rebecca Conte Named Outstanding Young Alumna
Rebecca Conte (BSN '07) was named Outstanding Young Alumna for 2009 for her work in Ghana. Her accomplishments are featured in the current edition of Seattle University Magazine.
