Three Nursing Students Receive Naef ScholarshipCongratulations to 2013-2014 Naef Scholarship recipients: Kelsie Deisinger, Kimberly Ito, and Elizabeth Jester!
The College of Nursing has received official notice regarding approval for the nurse-midwifery specialty in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. Full pre-accreditation status without recommendations or progress reports has been granted by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME). The Nurse-Midwifery specialty is unique in that it includes not only the basic core competencies required by certifying agencies, but also a focus on global midwifery practice. It incorporates the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Home-based Life Saving Skills curriculum into the program and also includes an optional clinical course in a low resource setting outside the United States. The college will begin admitting students to the specialty during the next admission cycle for the MSN program. For more information about the MSN program, visit www.seattleu.edu/nursing/msn/
