The College of Nursing seeks applicants for anticipated tenure track positions in both undergraduate and graduate programs with an expected start date of fall 2010. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Successful candidates will have expertise in one of the following nursing specialties: pediatric, medical-surgical, gerontological, or psychiatric-mental health. S/he will teach theory and clinical in undergraduate and graduate courses for an identified nursing specialty. Faculty members are expected to participate in teaching foundational theory and lab courses such as health assessment, communication, or research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Prospective applicants must have a doctorate in nursing (including a D.N.P.) or a related field. If doctorate is not in nursing, a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing is required. S/he must be eligible for Washington State Nursing licensure. For psychiatric-mental health nursing, a certified nurse practitioner who is eligible for ARNP in Washington State is required. All candidates must show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and the university's mission, vision, and values. This position requires a criminal history background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior teaching and research are preferred. For gerontological nursing, a certified adult nurse practitioner is preferred.
