Welcome
Class of 2012
Summer in Seattle
Orientation
We are delighted that you will join us at Seattle University, the largest independent university in the Pacific Northwest. We know that you and your family have many questions as you prepare for this transition. That’s where the New Student & Family Programs Office comes in!
All new first year
students participate in our “Summer
in Seattle” Orientation and fall Welcome Week to launch
their educational careers at Seattle University. During Summer Orientation
you will receive your fall quarter class schedule, learn about academic
expectations, find out how to get involved on campus, receive your residence
hall building assignment, learn about the special nature of a Jesuit
education, meet your classmates and current students and have fun. We
will also have a concurrent orientation program for families in the
summer. To view an outline of the student and family schedules,
please visit our dates
and details page. Our Welcome Week in the fall will
continue your transition to Seattle University with more activities
designed to make you feel at home here.
All first year students
are required to attend a summer orientation session and stay in the
residence halls while they are here, even if you will be commuting in
the fall. Links to nearby hotels are listed here
for family members.
You will be able to sign up for a Summer in Seattle orientation
session starting May 5th by going to my.seattleu.edu.
Log in with your SU user ID and password
and click on the Frosh Forms tab. This section will allow you
to submit course preference and housing preference information, as well
as sign up for a summer orientation session.
Cost: $50 per person. The student fee will be included in the Fall Quarter bill. The fee for parent participants should be mailed to the office listed below. Make checks payable to "Seattle University".
