  • Trip Information

    For out-of-state students specifically: Come tour the "Emerald City" on an adventure you won't soon forget! As you're new to the area this immersion is the perfect way to fall in love with your new home! We will spend a day visiting the world famous Pike Place Market, Columbia Tower, Gas Works Park, the Fremont Troll and so much more! We will explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of Seattle while learning how to navigate the city. You'll also break into teams and compete in the Amazing Scavenger Hunt around the city! Bring your walking shoes and some rain gear, it IS Seattle and we will be traveling by foot and public transportation. Overnight lodging will be in your residence halls (commuters will commute from home).

    Limited to 20 students.

    Throughout these tours, we will be walking extensively, so please be prepared and wear appropriate footwear. You will be staying in your residence hall. Please bring your own if possible. If you cannot, please let us know by August 30th.

    List of Gear to Bring


    Students without the required gear will not be able to participate in the immersion.

    • Appropriate, comfortable walking shoes since we'll be doing a lot of that!
    • Waterproof jacket
    • Day pack to carry your lunch, extra clothing layers, and any other gear that you may want throughout the day
    • Any medications for current medical conditions, especially for known allergies.
    • Desire to explore Seattle in a team-like and enthusiastic setting!

    Strongly Recommended

    • Clothes appropriate for spending long days outside (warm, waterproof, etc)
    • Suggested cool weather gear: hat, gloves, additional layers
    • Water bottle(s)
    • Sun protection Sunglasses, Sunscreen, and Hat or Bandana
    • Camera, if you want photos
    • Any other equipment that may be necessary for you
