First-year Leadership Institute (FLI)
FLI starts with a three day immersion that will
help you make new friends, learn about yourself and think about how to make a
difference in your world. Whether or not you think of yourself as "a
leader", this program is for you. We start with an on-campus retreat
style program followed by a half-day ropes course. Following the
immersion, participants continue with quarterly activities, a personal mentor
and access to an active support network. We welcome participants from
diverse experiences, abilities, communities and interest areas. Limited
to 40 students.
What should I bring to FLI?
You will be staying on-campus in your assigned
residence hall. Activity costs and
meals (Wednesday dinner through Friday lunch) are included in your FLI
registration. Dress is casual; you may want to wear layers, because Seattle
weather in September can be unpredictable. Some students in the past have
brought spending cash for optional Friday night activities. On Friday, our day
on the ropes course, please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dusty and
sturdy shoes.
