The Office of Jesuit Mission and Identity offers programs and services designed to foster a deeper understanding of the Jesuit and Catholic mission of Seattle University. Many of the programs are oriented toward faculty and staff, though other populations served include alumni, students and university board members. Welcome to this site and to the wide range of resources and links in the Jesuit Catholic tradition.

Joe Orlando

Joe Orlando

Joe Orlando is the Director of the Office of Jesuit Mission & Identity, and also serves as Assistant Vice President for the Mission & Ministry Division. His educational background includes a B.A. from Harvard College, a Master of Divinity from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University. He has been at Seattle University since 1990, serving both as a Campus Minister and as adjunct faculty member in social work prior to working with Jesuit Mission & Identity. He has been associated with the Jesuits since 1983, and has extensive experience with the Spiritual Exercises. He is married, and has two daughters.

Jen Tilghman-Haves

Jen Tilghman-Haves

Jen Tilghman-Haves is the Associate Director of the Office of Jesuit Mission & Identity.  She earned her B.A. at the University of Notre Dame and her Masters in Pastoral Ministry and Social Work from Boston College.  She is finishing coursework in Business Administration, with a focus on corporate social responsibility and organizational change.  Jen’s background includes counseling, retreats, administration, group work, and facilitating courses online.  Before joining the Mission & Identity team, she served as Social Justice Minister at Seattle University and the Director of the Women’s Resource Center at Boston College.  She is married and has a son.

Eddie Salazar

Eddie Salazar

Eddie Salazar is the Administrative Assistant in the Office of Jesuit Mission & Identity, and also supports the Office of Mission & Ministry and the Chaplain for Faculty & Staff. He received a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Divinity from Seattle University, and recently completed his Doctorate in Education Leadership at Seattle University. He has worked at Seattle University since 1997, first with the School of Theology & Ministry as Multicultural Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, and now with Jesuit Mission & Identity.
