Most students today take advantage of the opportunity to earn two degrees in four years. This isn't simply a double major, but two full degrees, with two diplomas. These students combine a degree in the humanities with an additional degree in the sciences, business, nursing, or the arts. Thus, these students graduate from their undergraduate years with the best of both worlds: respected training in a career specialty and the human abilities to make the most of that training for the greater good.
The Bachelor of Arts in Humanities requires completing a minimum of 135 credits, which include
- 80 credits in the humanities core courses,
- 40-45 credits in addition to an “area of specialization,” ranging from fine arts to science to business, and
- 10-25 credits of electives.
This may sound like a lot, but all of these requirements can be completed in three years.
Students who choose to earn a second degree complete an additional 45 credits, which takes only one additional year. Matteo Ricci College coordinates with other departments to facilitate the completion of a second degree, and students have the luxury of receiving advising from both Matteo Ricci College and the other department.
