Student Voices

Matteo Ricci College not only gave me a place where I feel welcome, but it also gave me the opportunity to play a major role in my education. I am not subject to long departmental waiting lists; my required classes are guaranteed for me and flexible enough for me to pursue other interests. The small cohort ensures that I have a tightly knit family of like-minded individuals who understand what I want out of life because they want it too.

In addition to a faculty advisor, Matteo Ricci College students have peer advisors who were in our shoes only a year or two ago. These peer advisors assist us in the course registration process, answer questions about the University, help us connect socially, and encourage us to plan for the future. They use their own experiences to help us get the most we can out of the opportunities presented to us.

The BAHT program gave me a strong foundation in the skills needed not only to succeed in the classroom, but also in the world around me. The emphasis on personal reflection and thoughtful discourse provided a chance to grow as a person and as a teacher. At the completion of the program, I felt fully prepared with a wealth of knowledge and the necessary skills to excel at the graduate level. The BAHT could not have provided a more fluid transition into the Masters in Teaching program.
