SU Rules as Green School

Seattle University's leadership in sustainability has been reaffirmed in The Princeton Review's 2012 Guide to 322 Green Colleges. For the second consecutive year, SU is ranked the highest of all 28 Jesuit institutions and tops among 10 independent colleges in Washington.

As was the case last year, SU is also number one among the 12 universities we consider our peer institutions: Santa Clara University; Creighton UniversityOutdoor shot inside blog; University of Portland; University of San Diego; Loyola University, Maryland; Loyola Marymount University; University of Denver; Gonzaga University; University of San Francisco; University of the Pacific; and Xavier University.

The Princeton Review chose the 322 schools in this guide based on "Green Rating" scores tallied for 2011. The Green Rating is a numerical score from 60-99 that's based on data from a 50-question survey. Seattle University earned a 95, improving upon last year's score of 94.

Of 768 schools for which the Princeton Review tallied Green Rating scores, the 322 schools featured in the guide received scores of 83 or higher.
