Alumnus Jeffrey Morrison is looking for volunteers this fall to participate in the Invest in Youth tutoring program. Participants are paired with an elementary school student in grades 3-5 to work with throughout the school year.
Morrison, who works in the King County Prosecutor’s Office and is a longtime tutor in the program, says this program is a great way for alumni to give back to the community and make a significant impact with a minimal time commitment—tutors need to commit to one hour a week. Of his experience in the Invest in Youth program Morrison, who is a tutor at Bailey Gatzert Elementary School near the SU campus, says, “It is an extremely rewarding experience knowing you are able to make a difference in another person's life."
Orientation is Sept. 26 with tutoring starting Oct. 2. Learn more about the program and read testimonials from tutors and students and become a tutor.
