Learning Communities

Health and Wellness

  • A community that offers students with academic interests ranging from bioscience to global health challenges to the integration of mind, body and spirit the opportunity to engage with questions of mindful living. Based in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis (care for the person), wellness encompasses the emotional, physical, intellectual, social, environmental, and spiritual aspects of collegiate life and beyond. Opportunities to engage in the classroom and the community include attending lectures, experiencing Seattle’s many cultural offerings, or volunteering for service projects promoting community wellness. Other activities may include salsa dancing and rock climbing classes, workshops on healthy relationships, weekend retreats, and strategies for stress management.
