We aim to meet the teaching, research, and informational needs of faculty by
providing a range of library services and spaces. Below are some of the services
commonly used by faculty.
Liaison Librarians
Meet the Liaison Librarian assigned to your department and get an orientation to the
resources available through the Library. Librarians also offer research consultation
appointments for faculty members. The list of subject Librarians by departments and
programs is available here.
Acquisitions is
responsible for ordering and receiving all material purchased for the Library
collection.

Course
Reserves is a service available to Seattle University faculty who wish to use
materials from the library's general collection or their own items as supplements to
their classes. Reserve materials generally circulate to students in a specific class
for short periods of time.
Video/DVD
Booking is a service available to Seattle University faculty who need a Lemieux
Library video or DVD to show in class on a specific date. Ensure that the item you want
to show in class is available - plan ahead and book it!
Proxy Borrowing is a privilege extended to faculty to assist with their instruction
and research by allowing designated faculty, staff, or students to check out materials
from Lemieux Library on their behalf. Materials checked out by a proxy borrower are
charged to the faculty member's account, and the faculty member is
responsible for the return of these materials and any fees incurred.
The faculty of Jesuit colleges and universities have reciprocal borrowing privileges
at all 28 Jesuit member institutions in the United States. Lemieux Library is a program
participant. This program is sponsored by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and
Universities (AJCU) library directors.
Specialized Databases for Faculty
ARTStor
Faculty may request instructional privileges. Faculty will be able to create of image groups within Faculty managed course folders as
well as set up student folders for sharing images and comments. Contact Jan Hartley (ext. 6206) for more information.
Cabell's
Directory of Publishing Services
Provides help for potential authors in selecting journals for publication. Covers
business,economics, education, health administration, nursing, computer science and
business information systems. Find information about each journal, including
editor's name, manuscript guidelines, acceptance rate and type of
readership.
Journal Citation
Reports
Find high impact journals, most frequently used journals and other information for
journal evaluation from this Thompson/ISI database. Use the
library's catalog to find this tool which covers over 8400 journals
in the sciences and social sciences.
Faculty Lounge
A reading room on the 6th floor of the Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning
Commons has been reserved for faculty use.
