The purpose of Seattle University’s Media Production Center (MPC), located on the first floor of the Lemieux Library, is to enhance the Seattle University student experience by offering the tools, training and space for students, clubs, faculty & staff to create their own original multimedia productions.
Although class-related productions are given top priority, the production and post-production equipment/software are also available to students, faculty and staff for personal development and artistic vision. Whether you’d like to produce a documentary, sports highlight reel, slide show, graphic animation, digital art, an original movie, music video, or original music composition – we are here to help!
We will not do your project for you or offer a production team, but we will provide training opportunities and the majority of the tools you’ll need to complete your own production. You supply the crew and we supply the tools. It all begins with a Request Form (See top of page.)

The Recording Studio , Editing Rooms and Screening Room are available by appointment only.
The MPC is available for the creation of multimedia productions only. This includes Video, Audio, Music, Photo, Animation and Graphics. The MPC is not available for use as a computer lab for papers or basic Internet access. Although we support the creation multimedia content for class presentations, the MPC is not to be used to create actual presentations such as PowerPoint, Keynote, or Prezi.
If schedule or resource demands conflict, the following list will determine who gets top priority and who may have to reschedule or wait for availability:1. Student creating a multimedia project for a specific class2. Faculty/Staff creating a multimedia project designed to support a specific class3. Student/Faculty/Staff creating a multimedia project for an official SU club/sport4. Student creating a Departmental or University-wide multimedia project5. Faculty/Staff creating a Departmental or University-wide multimedia project6. Student creating a multimedia project for personal development or artistic vision7. Faculty/Staff creating a multimedia project for personal development/artistic vision
We support and provide training for all production equipment (Video/Audio/Lighting) that is part of the MPC. Unfortunately, we may not be able to help you with outside equipment that is not part of the MPC.
We support and provide training for the following software: Final Cut Pro X, Final Cut Studio 3, Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium CS5, Logic Studio Pro 9, Garage Band, iMovie & iDVD.
The MPC uses Mac computers & software only. No support is given to PC based equipment or software.
The MPC is not responsible for and does not provide storage of your electronic files. Users are required to provide their own storage device (hard drive, laptop, etc.).
