Borrowing from other libraries

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a cooperative service in which materials are made available by one library to another for the use of patrons. Requests may be submitted by Seattle University students, faculty, administrators and staff for materials which are not in the SU collection, not available to borrow through Summit, and which are needed for research, term papers and scholarly reading. Average turn around time for materials receive through the U.S. Postal Service is eight days and 4 for electronic transmissions. There is no guarantee regarding material format or that your request can be filled by a certain deadline.

For more information on InterLibrary Loan, read our Service Details & Policies.

To request an item via Interlibrary Loan, please complete a Book or Article Request Form as thoroughly as possible. Complete information is needed to fill your request accurately and promptly.  Individuals are limited to ten requests per week.

Important Note: Please check for Seattle University availability before submitting requests. Look for books in the Lemieux Library Catalog and in the Summit Catalog. Find articles in our Full Text Online Journal List or the SU Journals & Magazine List.
