Lemieux Library can help as you question and explore issues related to the September 11th terrorist attack and the aftermath. The following bibliography of information resources available in the library, through the library web page and via the Internet has been compiled by Seattle University librarians, staff and faculty.

As you research these issues, we encourage you to: 1) Critically evaluate the information you locate: Is this information accurate? Comprehensive? Relevant? Who authored the information? 2) Distinguish between facts and opinions. 3) Utilize a variety of sources of information: Internet, printed materials, journal articles, etc.

Please note: New book titles have not been added since August 2003. Additional books and videos can be located through the Library Catalog. Newspaper and journal articles can be located in many general and specialized databases through the Databases page. Reference staff is also available to assist you in finding materials.

Search tip: Some informative Internet links disappeared after September 11, for example, the "Official web site for the Islamic State of Afghanistan". Google can help find sites that have disappeared. Google takes a snapshot of each page examined as it crawls the web and caches these as a back-up in case the original page is unavailable. If you click on the "Cached" link on a Google search, you will see the web page as it looked when they indexed it. For more information regarding searching Google's cache, visit Kevin Elliott's About.com article on using Google cache to research Afghanistan.
