Getting Help With Your Research

Ask a Librarian

  • Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor. or call the library at 206.296.6230 during library hours.
  • Ask for help from the Reference staff via email
  • Contact the Library Liaison for the Albers School of Business and Economics Karen Gilles at 206.296.6226 or via email
  • Schedule a Research Consultation. This is a one-on-one appointment with a Reference librarian focusing on your topic and research needs.

Use the Research Feature on the SU Library's Website

  • Begin work on a topic with our 5 step Research Path.
  • For topics in business and economics, try some of the resources listed in the specialized subject guides:
  • Use our Tutorial for Business Research to learn the basic tools for company and industry research.
  • Consult the new Tutorial for Business Entrepreneurship Research for recommended print and online resources. This tutorial was developed in January 2006 for MGMT 479.
  • Try the resources in the Tutorial for International Business Consulting Research as a starting point for information in this area. This tutorial was developed in January 2006 for MGMT 572.
  • Explore the databases in Business and Economics. Almost all of these databases are available through Remote Access.

Citing your sources

  • Use the Cite Your Sources from the library's Research Path for quick help on basic citing in a variety of formats.
  • Try Endnote, a bibliographic software manager which will link the citations from our database subscriptions to your paper. EndNote is available to Seattle University faculty, staff or students to install on their office or home computers. Contact the SU IT Helpdesk (206.296.5571 or helpdesk@seattleu.edu) for information on how to install Endnote on-campus. To install Endnote at home, complete a Software Checkout Form.

Note: This software links to many of the library's business subscription databases. However, as of January 2006, you are unable to use this tool with Lexis-Nexis.
