Herman, Robert D. (ed) 2006. The Jossey-Bass Handbook of Nonprofit Leadership and Management. HD62.6 J67 2005. Excellent resource for nonprofit management. The 2006 edition had kept the earlier edition's chapters relating to boards but they have been extensively revised and updated. Chapter 6 covers "Board Leadership and Board Development, while chapter 7 by Robert Herman and Richard Heimovics focus on "Executive Leadership." Chapter 15 covers the government-nonprofit relationship in the article by Steven Rathgeb Smith, " Managing the Challenges of Government Contracts."

This is one of the best sources on the web! The statistics section is but one section of a site which also links to foreign, federal and state government materials. Resources for the statistics section are primarily governmental agencies, but can be drawn from nongovernmental sources. Well-designed, the user will find this site easy to navigate.
