3. Finding materials that are checked out or not owned by Lemieux Library:

If you know the item you want:

    Is the item currently checked out? If so, recall the item or place a hold on the item.

If the item is not owned by Lemieux Library, request it via InterLibrary Loan, a service that allows us to borrow the item from another library. We'll notify you when the item arrives. If you need it in a hurry, however, you can try other local libraries through the library links provided below.

Interlibrary Loan Questions and Policies

If you couldn't find anything in the Lemieux Library Catalog:

First, search Summit, a consortium of college/university libraries in Washington and Oregon. If you find something you want, you can request the item. The service is free, and the book will be delivered to Lemieux Library for you.

Second, search other library catalogs and, if you find something at another library, request it via InterLibrary Loan.

Search other libraries -->

We recommend searching WorldCat, which merges the catalogs of libraries around the world into one database. It has an ILL feature on the results screen so you can request items directly from the database.

Important note: While other universities may not allow you to check out books directly from them, you can still get the material if you ask for it through Interlibrary Loan.
