If you have a laptop, you can access the SU
network from ethernet connections in study rooms through out the library
or via the SU wireless network. Lemieux Library is a part of the
campus-wide wireless network, which allows network access from all
classrooms, common areas, and open spaces on campus. The Library
installation includes 27 access points covering open areas, meeting
rooms, and the Library stacks. The wireless network can be accessed via a laptop
with an 802.11b-compliant wireless network card.
Off-Campus Access
Lemieux Library's catalog
is available to all via the web. Most of the Library's other online
resources are available from off-campus via a proxy server
with the use of an active SU Network ID and password. (For help
with SU email accounts call 206-296-5571, send email to helpdesk@seattleu.edu,
or check Information Technologies' online
email information.)
To find articles by searching our library databases:
- Go to our Databases
by Title or Databases
by Subject pages.
- Click on the database link.
- Use your SU Network ID and password to connect
to the library's proxy server.
- You should now have access to the database and
can begin searching.
If you have problems accessing resources from off-campus, please
contact Reference, 206.296.6230, libref@seattleu.edu.
Lemieux Library also provides SU patrons online access
to their individual library
account information (items checked out, unpaid bills,
and holds) plus the ability to renew materials already checked out.
Access to these services can be established by clicking on "
Your Library Account " located in the upper right-hand
region of any library
catalog webpage. Logins require patron name and university ID
number preceded by two zeros (9 digit number).
Lemieux Library's Interlibrary Loan
Services issues a PIN (personal identification number)
to patrons receiving PDF documents which have been posted for their
access on the web. Email notifications for these electronically
obtained documents contain the individual's generated PIN and instructions
on how to access documents. PINs can be changed upon the patron's
request. (Contact the ILL office at 206-296-6359 or by email at
ill@seattleu.edu.) IDs for
this service are the same as university email IDs: including the
domain. (ex. patron@seattleu.edu)
