BEFORE THE CONFERENCE
NJSLC is a fun learning opportunity.  You can expect to meet new people, to share ideas from your campus and to think about how to influence your campus and your world for the better. You will learn from expert speakers, interactive workshops and of course, your fellow student leaders.

You can make the most of the experience by considering a couple key things before you arrive:

Represent Yourself and Us Well:

  • We trust that as student leaders you will actively participate as a positive member of the NJSLC community.  We remind all delegates that they represent not only their organization and institution, but all Jesuit schools and Seattle University as the host.  Please represent yourselves and your Jesuit colleagues well at all times.

  • All delegates must submit a completed Expectations Agreement at the time of Check In for the conference.

Plan Ahead:

  • Talk with your delegation about what your goals are.  Are there particular kinds of information you hope to bring back?  This will help you make good choices about sessions.

  • Gather your School Swap supplies.  During the conference, we will have a School Swap to trade school spirit items.  Participants from your delegation can use the supplies you bring to trade for items from other schools.  You might want to bring student organization t-shirts, tokens from events, promotional items.

Pack the Right Things:

  • Casual dress for educational session days
  • Clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty for the Service Project
  • Semi-formal outfit for the Closing Banquet
  • Toiletries
  • Towel
  • Camera
  • Money to buy dinner one night for and evening in Seattle with your delegation
  • Signed Expectations Agreement
  • School Swap supplies
