Leadership Development

Ignatian Leaders

  • The Ignatian Leaders are a cohort of approximately 12 students is selected in recognition of their demonstrated academic, personal and spiritual integration.  These are some of our strongest exemplars of a Seattle University education.  Members meet regularly with Seattle University leaders, serve as mentors for peers, meet bi-monthly as a cohort and select projects which contribute back to the university community.  Examples of past Ignatian Leader projects include the Ban the Bottle campaign, successful advocacy to address the disproportionate impact of policies on international students.   The current cohort’s project, Stories of Seattle U, can be found on Facebook.

Students must meet the following to be selected for 2015-2016:

    • Currently enrolled with at least junior standing and scheduled to graduate between December 2015 and June 2016, and
    • Demonstrated leadership with and for others, and
    • Integration of leadership into their academic and professional formation, and
    • Integration of leadership into their spiritual and values development.
Studying abroad will not necessarily prevent a student from being selected, but students must be on campus at least one quarter.
