    Housing Break Waiver and Release

The undersigned student has requested that Seattle University allow him/her to occupy a space in Seattle University residence halls during an established break period. The undersigned acknowledges that the University has advised the student that the University does not have its normal staff available during this period of occupancy. As a result, there may be times during which University personnel are not available to respond to needs of students staying during the break. The student understands that normal academic year services will be limited or not available at all during this time. In addition, security personnel are not making normal rounds during this time, and security services will be limited.

Therefore, in consideration of the student's request for extended housing, the undersigned student hereby releases Seattle University, its agents of employees, from all liability, cost, damage, claim and expense which arises out of or relates to the undersigned/s presence at Seattle University during the break occupancy period. The undersigned hereby acknowledges that s/he assumes full risk of injury, loss or damage that may result from break occupancy and hereby waives any claim against Seattle University, its agents or employees, arising therefrom. This waiver and release is intended to include, without limitation, all claims resulting from accident, illness, injury, theft or assault. It is also understood and agreed that the undersigned executes this release with the intent of binding him/herself and all heirs, successors or assigns. Students who stay over the break are encouraged to take extra safety precautions and to arrange their own assistance and security measures. Seattle University Safety and Security can be reached at 206-296-5990 (non-emergency) or 206-296-5991 (emergency), but may not be able to respond as promptly as necessary during times of occupancy during school breaks.

By signing below I confirm that I have read and understand the housing break provisions and housing break waiver and release and agree to the terms therein.
