More than 600 members of the class of 2011 and a nearly equal number of parents participated in three "Summer in Seattle" orientation sessions held on Seattle University's campus in July. Families came from as far away as Florida and Vermont for a two-day glimpse of what college life will be like at SU. Incoming students met with professors, advisers and current students and got to spend a night in the residence halls. As one student wrote of the experience, "(The orientation) whetted my appetite for the fall. I want the summer to end."
