A dedicated teacher, an accomplished scholar and a committed colleague is among the superlatives used to describe Albers Professor Peter Brous, Ph.D., who has been named as the inaugural holder of the Dr. Khalil Dibee Endowed Chair in Finance.
At the installation ceremony Nov. 26 at Pigott Auditorium, the university honored the work of Professor Brous and Dr. Dibee, who retired from Albers in 1995 after 30 years teaching finance. The chair is made possible through the generosity of Albers alum and philanthropists Gary Brinson, '66—one of Dibee's former students—and his wife, Suzann Brinson.
“A chair is a prized position in any institution,” said Provost John Eshelman, “and an investment in our very best faculty.”
The Dibee Endowed Chair supports a distinguished faculty member with an exceptional record as a teacher and scholar. The recipient serves as a mentor for graduate and undergraduate students, and implements innovations in educational programs and offerings to contribute to the success of our students.
