Join us for a heartfelt and contemplative evening of sacred music in honor of the splendid harmony and balance of St. Ignatius Chapel, as we celebrate tenth anniversary of its dedication. Peregrine Medieval Vocal Ensemble returns to present an evening of Gregorian chant and harp music for the dedication of sacred space. The program is an evocative recreation of medieval rituals for the consecration of churches, including the blessing of the doors and the altar, the invocation of saints, and the chanted portions of a Dedication Mass.
Admission is by free will offering, with a suggested donation of $15. Free parking will be available at the Chapel of St. Ignatius parking lot located west of 12th Avenue at East Marion. More information.
Campus liturgy at 11am and 9pm in the Chapel of St. Ignatius.
Fr. Jerry Cobb will be giving a lecture entitled "New Questions and Blessings: The First Ten Years in the Chapel of St. Ignatius." Fr. Cobb will discuss how the Chapel of St. Ignatius as an "interrogative space" raises important questions that are blessings for those who encounter them. Dinner will be served following a presentation by Fr. Cobb. More information or to RSVP.
At the base of the Table of the Eucharist there is a reliquary that contains relics of St. Francis Xavier, St. Robert Bellarmine, St. Egmund Campion and St. Ignatius of Loyola, the chapel's patron saint.
