Work-Study is a need-based award. Students must complete the FAFSA. Work opportunities are made available by either federal (on campus) or state (off campus) work-study programs are based on part-time employment. On-campus jobs for graduate assistants pay a minimum of $10.40 per hour. Off-campus positions vary, paying $7.93 to $20 per hour, depending on experience. Funding is limited with priority given to full-time students. Graduate students should inquire with Student Financial Services to determine eligibility.
Provides up to a 50 percent tuition reduction for full-time teachers and principals in Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Seattle who are enrolled in the College of Education. A separate application from the Seattle University Student Financial Services Office is required. Students must be fully admitted to a master's program in the College of Education. The grant is not available for doctoral, pre-service teacher preparation (MIT) classes or to students eligible for Matteo Ricci College tuition remission.
These "non-need-based" loans are available to student borrowers. The interest rate is variable. Interest accrues while you are in school. Repayment of the loan begins six months after you leave school or drop below half-time enrollment. Students may borrow annually up to the total cost of attendance, less financial aid. Most require the student to be a degree seeking student and registered for at least half-time study. However, some of the Continuing Education Loans can be used for less than part-time study and non-matriculated status.
