Scholarships

Seattle University offers a limited number of grants and scholarships for graduate students. Most are determined by the academic departments. All grants and scholarships are financial resources and must be coordinated with other types of financial aid.

Dr. Marylou Wyse Award

  • Limited need-based scholarships available to new students admitted to select programs for up to two years.
  • Students must complete the FAFSA.
  • Continuous enrollment of at least three credits per term, but a minimum of 12 credits per academic year, is expected to remain eligible for renewal of the graduate award.
  • Recipients receive up to $2,400 per academic year for a total of eight quarters if you remain in good standing. Total scholarship dollars cannot exceed $4,800.

Graduate Diversity Scholarships

  • Limited scholarships available to outstanding candidates from under-represented populations.
  • The targeted populations are African American, Native American, Hispanic, and Asian/Pacific Islanders.
  • Available to newly admitted students in the following graduate programs:

    • College of Education (curriculum and instruction, educational administration and teacher preparation)
    • College of Nursing
    • School of Theology and Ministry

  • Awards based on departmental requirements, demonstrated professional leadership, and need.
  • Applications are available from individual departments and must be received by the program application deadline.

External Scholarships

  • Seattle University resources include a national scholarship database program in the Career Development Center (206) 296-6080 and a listing of selected other external scholarships in Student Financial Services Office available via the web.
  • The Internet offers numerous scholarship search opportunities and resources.
  • Libraries are excellent resource centers; however, frequently scholarship listing publications cannot be checked out so allow time to browse.
  • Check with your employer for scholarship and tuition reimbursement opportunities.
