Celebration of Student Scholarship 2013

CALL FOR PAPERS, PANELS, AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Have you written a really good research paper recently? Did you make a compelling argument that impressed your fellow students and your professor? Have you produced a highly effective piece of creative writing?

Take your work to the next level by participating in the Celebration of Student Scholarship sponsored by the Seattle University Undergraduate Research Association (SUURA) that will take place on May 10, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Student Center.

All undergraduate students in all disciplines are eligible.  Students need a faculty mentor to sponsor their application. Students can propose any of the following:
•         Student-faculty collaborative scholarship
•         Honors projects or Independent research projects 
•         Faculty-mentored student scholarship
•         Departmental Honors theses
 
The presentation can be in the form of an individual paper; or creative work presentation; a panel proposal with 3 to 5 presenters; or a poster.

The deadline for both panel abstracts and individual papers or posters is Friday, April 12th.   The conference schedule will be up by Friday, May 3rd.

Submission Guidelines:

Please use attached form to submit your proposals.
Individual paper or poster: send a) a one-page abstract of your project; b) your email and phone number; c) the name of your faculty mentor and their email address
Panel of 3-4 papers: send a) a one-page abstract of your panel title with list of papers, titles, and individual presenters; b) email and phone number for each presenter; c) the name of your mentor and their email address 
Reading of creative writing: send a) a three-page sample of your poetry, fiction, drama, or creative non-fiction; b) your email and phone number; c) the name of your mentor and their email address.

Presenters must be flexible with their schedule on May 10, 2013 and be available to present their work anytime during the day.
