Leadership Positions Available Spring Quarter ASSU Executive/Representative: SU’s undergraduate student government is comprised of executive and representative positions. Leaders learn effective advocacy, communication and project management. Campus Ministry Music Leader: Students who are involved with music (singing, playing instruments, etc.) are invited to be part of the Chapel Choir. The student leadership team helps coordinate schedules and events. Campus Ministry Service Leader: There are many ways to get involved with service through Campus Ministry, and student leaders and coordinators are always needed for various ministries. Campus Ministry Retreat Leader: Leaders help plan, implement, and lead either the New Student Retreat, the Agape Retreat or Search. Retreat leaders organize themes, events, publicity, small groups, materials, etc. Responsibilities include talks, leading small groups and activities. Peer Health Action Team (PHAT): PHAT Members serves as peer health educators to raise awareness about health issues and educate students on wellness through programs, educational campaigns and events. Spectator Staff: SU’s student newspaper offers students staff positions such as Business Manager, Advertising Manager, and two Advertising Sales Reps. For those with Journalism education and/or experience, writer positions are also available. Student Alumni Ambassador: Represent SU at events for students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni and friends of the University. Network with esteemed alumni, work alongside other SU student organizations, and be apart of the SU’s pride and tradition. Student Campus Minister: Student Campus Ministers help with worship and liturgical music, community service, public relations, liturgy, social justice, retreats, leadership, office support, administrative support, and care of the chapel. Student Events and Activities Council (SEAC): SU’s main social-programming board on campus is made up of student leaders who plan events for the student body. Events include speakers, study break programs, as well as annual events such as Fall Ball & Quadstock. Student Leader for the Common Good: Work with Center for Service & Community Engagement staff to coordinate service programs, develop community partnerships, collaborate with campus partners, and lead their peers in service and reflection experiences. Student Leader for New Beginning Program: The New Beginning Program is seeking 8-10 student orientation advisors to work with new international students as they transition to SU. Candidates must be available Sept.4-7 and 10-14, 2007. Leadership Positions Available At Other Times of The Year Collegia Staff Member: Provide a welcoming presence for commuters who use the Collegia to connect, study, socialize, eat and relax. Help form relationships with and among students, inititate programs that support student needs and perform tasks for the smooth operation of the Collegium. Equity Awareness Training Facilitator: Facilitators address issues relating to gender, race, class, age, ability, religion, sexual orientation, etc. in order to enhance awareness, cultural sensitivity and multicultural understanding of the campus community through workshops and programs. Leadership Coordinator: LC's coordinate leadership programs and services such as workshops and conferences, as well as serving as resources to students as they develop their leadership skills and knowledge. Orientation Advisor (OA): OA's are ambassadors for the SU, assisting new students and parents through the transition to university life. OAs work with the Summer in Seattle, Welcome Week and meet with their small groups throughout fall quarter. May not be combined with OMA Peer Mentor or RA. Peer Mentor (OMA): PM's implement Connections, where students of color connect with one another and the community. PM's are resources for new students and their families, making the transition to the diverse academic, intellectual, and SU social culture. May not be combined with OA or RA.
