Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

The Society of Women Engineers is the largest non-profit educational and service organization representing both student and professional women in engineering and technical fields. It was founded in 1950. It has over 17,000 members in 90 sections and 300 student sections. Its mission is to stimulate women to achieve their full potential as engineers and leaders. It also focuses on expanding the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life. In addition, SWE hopes to demonstrate the value of diversity, educating the entire person, and empowering leaders for a just world.
