New Chair & Director Institute

  • New Chair & Director Institute

This institute is designed for newly appointed department chairs and program directors who have other faculty reporting to them. These individuals play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the university and in supporting and developing their faculty colleagues. To enhance their capabilities and effectiveness in their new role, this leadership orientation initiative addresses four areas of professional development:

    • Leadership style self-assessment
    • Communication and conflict resolution
    • Organizational planning and goal-setting
    • Working within the university administrative structure
