Travel and Hotel Resources

Seattle University offers assistance with flight reservations, hotel stays, and rental cars for all university employees and guests visiting campus. These services are available for both your personal and business travel.

Airfare and Car Rentals through Egencia

Seattle University has partnered with the Independent Colleges of Washington to create an Egencia corporate travel account. This web portal enables SU employees to search for flights, hotels, and rental cars with the added benefit of being able to create your own user profile and store credit card information.

In addition, the corporate account allows users to:

  • Check Southwest Airlines for airfare
  • Instantly check flight status
  • Get airport information and parking reservations
  • Check the weather in the city you are traveling to
  • Look up maps of the area
  • Get specific information on passports and visas needed for international travel
  • Convert currency

To create a user account please send an email to Lauren Rochholz with the following information:

  • Your name
  • University Budget to associate with the account
  • If you will arrange travel for someone, please note who those individuals are
  • If someone will arrange travel for you, please note who those individuals are

Within 2 business days you will receive an email with your Egencia user name and password.

Please note that at this time, Egencia does not bill SU for business travel. A credit card must be used to make reservations. Department ProCards cannot be used.

Area Hotels

Two Seattle area hotels offer discount rates to the university for employees and visiting guests.

The Silvercloud Hotel Broadway is located on the corner of Broadway and Madison and is the closest to the university. A continental breakfast is no longer included.

Overnight parking costs $16 plus tax for registered guests. Parking is complimnetary for day time guests attending an event at the hotel or eating at Jimmy's. The parking garage is open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Sorrento Hotel is located nearby at 900 Madison and offers luxurious guest rooms and great dining.

For current rates, please contact Support Services. Rates include in room Internet access. All rates are subject to a 15.6% hotel occupancy tax.

Overnight parking rates are $26.

Billing: Silver Cloud and the Sorrento

Both hotels offer direct billing to the University for guests visiting your department. To make a direct billed reservation, please fill out an SU Guest Form (see Related Documents box on the right)and fax it to Support Services at (206) 296-2150. Support Services will make the reservation for you and fax the form back with your confirmation number.

Personal Reservations

To make personal reservations, please contact the hotel of your choice directly and tell the reservationist that you are with Seattle University.
