Students with a graduate degree who are interested in pursuing Superintendent Certification may choose between the following three options, which meet the Interstate School Leadership Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards:
Applicants with a master’s degree can earn the EdS with 45 credits including coursework needed to qualify for state certification as a superintendent.
Applicants with a master’s degree may earn a doctorate and qualify for certification as a superintendent by enrolling in the Educational Leadership Program. This doctoral program consists of a core curriculum in leadership studies. Choosing the “Superintendent” professional concentration meets Washington State requirements for superintendent certification.
The Executive Leadership Superintendent Program is a post-master's certificate of 31 credits designed for experienced professionals. The 11-month program of study includes an intensive internship.
