Volunteer Opportunities

With over sixty non-profit service organizations surrounding Seattle University, there are endless opportunities to get involved in the community through volunteering. The Center for Service and Community Engagement is available to help students identify which organizations would work best for the student’s interests and schedule, and provide resources for the student to engage in service.

If you are interested in volunteering, please click the link below to view our Justice and Service listserve, which posts short- and long-term volunteer opportunities, events, internships and other news related to social justice issues.  If you are looking for an on-going service opportunity, you can browse through the list of our partner organizations. If you would like help in finding a place that would work well for you, please feel free to stop by the office at any time or contact us via email/phone.

  •  United Way of King County  
    The largest database of volunteer position for King County. Find both group, family, youth, individual and one day volunteer opportunities. With hundreds of opportunities that focus on different issues such as animals, youth, environmental, disabilities, veterans, and many more.
  •  Volunteermatch.com 
    VolunteerMatch strengthens communities by making it easier for good people and good causes to connect. The organization offers a variety of online services to support a community of nonprofit, volunteer and business leaders committed to civic engagement. Our popular service welcomes millions of visitors a year and has become the preferred internet recruiting tool for more than 78,000 nonprofit organizations.
  • EarthCorps 
    EarthCorps provides volunteer opportunities for individuals and/or groups to work on trails, remove invasive plants, and plant native species. EarthCorps supplies gloves, tools, water, light refreshments and volunteer education that covers safety, information on the park you are working in, forest health, environmental restoration and the overview of the project.
  • Green Seattle 
    The Green Seattle Partnership is a unique public/private partnership between the City of Seattle and the Cascade Land Conservancy. The Green Seattle Partnership is dedicated to restoring 2500 acres of forested Parkland in Seattle by 2025. We can't do it alone. Forest restoration volunteers work on removing invasive plants, planting new native trees and understory plants, and long term maintenance and monitoring of restoration sites.
  • Seattle Works
    Seattle Works is best known for: delivering accessible volunteer opportunities that help people get going, pairing those points of entry with a clear path for increased involvement, preparing people to join nonprofit boards and public commissions, hosting fun, informal, non-partisan events that connect people with the candidates and issues on their ballot and being a valued, trusted and knowledgeable partner to great causes seeking to connect with new audiences.
