Center for Service and Community Engagement

"When the heart is touched by direct experience, the mind may be challenged to change. Personal involvement with the innocent suffering, with the injustice others suffer, is the catalyst for solidarity, which then gives rise to intellectual inquiry."

- Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J.

Labor of Love

Registration is closed
Labor of Love (LOL) is a student-led day of service, where all participants engage with the community by serving on a team with other students. LOL occurs every quarter and with every quarter, there is a chosen theme.

As a university that values engaging in our diverse world, we hope to engage our students in service with agencies that work with immigrant communities and communities of color. Labor of Love is a collaboration between the Center for Service and Community Engagement and the Office of Student Activities. We are excited for you to participate!

2008-2009 dates:
November 1
February 21
April 25

"Labor of Love offers students the opportunity to build a bridge between Seattle University and our surrounding community. I participated as a site leader during Fall quarter. It was great seeing SU students and staff coming together to learn about immigration issues and live the university's values for service and social justice." -Aldo Resendiz, 2007-2008 Student Leader for the Common Good
